Flu and COVID-19 Vaccination Programmes Now Underway

From 1 October, the NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccination programmes are available to all eligible patients.

Community pharmacies can provide flu vaccinations to eligible adults, including those aged 65 and over, people with certain long-term health conditions, carers, care home residents, close contacts of immunocompromised individuals and people experiencing homelessness. Pharmacies can also vaccinate children aged 2 and 3 years, as well as eligible at-risk children aged 4 to 17 years.

Pharmacy owners are reminded that school-aged children who are not in a clinical at-risk group cannot receive flu vaccinations in community pharmacies until 1 December 2026.

Please remember that all NHS vaccinations administered in pharmacies must be recorded in the Record a Vaccination Service (RAVS) system. You can find more information about RAVS here.

Community Pharmacy England has also made a pre-consultation questionnaire available to support adult flu and COVID-19 vaccination appointments, which you can download here.
