LFD
The LFD service will continue to be commissioned as an Advanced service in 2024/25.
From 1st April 2024, additional patient groups will be eligible to access the LFD service, as well as those previously eligible for the service. Details on CPE here.
From 29 May 2024, an NHS service finder: Find a pharmacy that offers free COVID-19 rapid lateral flow tests via NHS.uk has been launched to enable patients to quickly and easily locate a pharmacy participating in the advanced service to provide free COVID-19 NHS lateral flow device (LFD) tests to eligible patients or their representative.
The Lateral Flow Device (LFD) Tests service specification has been updated to make the eligibility clearer as set out in NICE guidance and to emphasise that eligible patients do not need to be symptomatic of COVID-19 to obtain a free box of tests.
